+The game also saves itself at the end of every month, in ''autosave.sav'' (the one before is kept as ''autosave.sav.bak''), and **Continue** on the title screen picks up from there. The autosave is removed when the campaign is won or lost.

Saves are kept in ''%LOCALAPPDATA%\Sengoku - Road to Unification\saves'' on Windows and ''~/.config/Sengoku - Road to Unification/saves/'' on Linux.  +===== Export and Import =====
 +
+Both editions can keep a campaign in a file of its own:
+  * **Export to a file** (6 in the Save list, Campaign > Save) saves the campaign to a file, named like ''sengoku-oda-1560-04.sav''. In the browser it is downloaded; on the desktop you choose where it goes. Exporting does not count as saving to a slot.
+  * **Import from a file** (6 in the Load list, Campaign > Load or Load campaign on the title screen) opens a save file and plays it. If you have unsaved changes, the game asks first.
 +
+The file is the same in both editions, so this is how a campaign moves between the browser and the desktop. In the browser, Export is also the way to keep a copy that survives clearing the browser's data. Slot saves and ''.bak'' files can be imported too.
